Good bye and good riddance to QuickBooks Desktop and Enterprise

Hello, we hope you, your families, and your businesses are weathering the Covid storm as well as possible.

As many middle market and small companies are still using QuickBooks Desktop or Enterprise, we wanted to make sure you are aware that Intuit has accelerated the timing for phasing them out this year.

After May 31, 2020, access to all add-on services will be discontinued for QuickBooks Desktop for Windows 2017 by Intuit.

This includes all versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise Solutions 2017.

For those of you still running your accounting and financial reporting from desktop software now is a good time to evaluate cloud-based alternatives to migrate to.

If you need a specialized system look at alternatives now, whether it’s construction (for example Foundation Construction ERP), or manufacturing (Global Shop Solutions from here in Texas for example), or an ERP leaning more towards larger enterprise organizations (NetSuite).

If needing to migrate from QuickBooks Desktop or Enterprise to QuickBooks Online doing so will also provide you with modern cloud based security, and you may be happily surprised that it pays for itself much more quickly than you had expected. Ensuring your ability to continue to serve your clients is the most basic element of risk management.

These are tough times but also when those that prepare for the future will be rewarded. This crisis has illustrated all too clearly the real risks with waiting any longer to bring basic business platforms onto the cloud and into the 21st century.

Position your firm for the rebound in Q3 by having tools that are scalable and grow with you.

Running mission critical software on a local server, or, even more frighteningly, hosted on a desktop or laptop is asking for trouble. It only takes one spilled cup of coffee.

Let us know if we can help or email us if you would like to brainstorm alternatives.
